1. 21 Savage now a permanent US citizen

Years after 21 Savage was in danger of becoming one of the many illegal immigrants that the Trump administration was deporting by the plane loads, the man is officially a US Citizen and will be able to finally visit his homeland of London. According to reports, the “Runnin” rapper has been cleared to make international travel plans after being declared a permanent US resident, and apparently his first stop will be his native land of London, where he was born and raised before coming to the U.S. at the tender age of seven.

Excited to be able to visit his home for the first time since he was a child, 21 Savage announced his plans to travel to London on his Instagram page with a collage of childhood videos that roll as Skylar Grey’s “Coming Home” plays in the background. It was quite touching and moving.

Award-winning singer and performer Davido has shed more light on his absence at the Warri Again concert, which was held in Delta State recently. The singer, who was accused of accepting over $94,000 from Amaju Pinnick to make an appearance at the event, clarified that he had, in fact, informed the organizers of the show a long time before the concert happened that he would not be available for the event. As such, he was confused as to why his name was used to publicize the event. He apologized and assured his fans that he would bring his concert to Warri, Delta State, while thanking them for their unending support.

3. South Africa: Tyla becomes first South African to hit 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify

South Africa’s pop princess, Tyla, made a big splash with her viral song “Water,” which has gained international traction. This viral song quickly gained popularity on TikTok, evolving into a trending dance challenge. “Water” continued to gain momentum, eventually securing a spot in Spotify’s prestigious Top 40 global chart. Now Tyla has become the first South African to gain 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify according to African folder.

“Water,” a blend of Afrobeats and Amapiano made its debut in July and has since inspired over 570 thousand TikTok users to replicate its dance moves. The 21-year-old singer has coined her music style as popiano, a unique combination of pop music and amapiano. 4. Rema releases for your consideration banner for the Grammy Awards 2024

Multiple award-winning singer and performer Rema has been confirmed to have submitted a for your consideration banner for possible nominations at the 66th edition of the Grammy Awards, which is scheduled to take place on February 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Although the singer’s hit song “Calm Down” is not eligible for possible nomination, the singer can, however, be considered in other categories. The newly introduced Best African Music Performance is one category that everyone is looking out for. The Best African Performance category is part of the newly introduced categories at the Grammy Awards ahead of the 66th edition of the award ceremony itself.

5. Paul Pogba wage cut kicks in at Juventus after failed drugs test

Paul Pogba has received confirmation from Juventus that, in the wake of a failed drug test, his salary is to be cut to just €2,000 a month. The France international midfielder has seen the B sample that he provided following a Serie A game with Udinese on August 20 also come back positive. The World Cup winner was already serving a suspension at Juve after initially posting elevated levels of testosterone.

That ban has now been extended indefinitely, with Pogba facing the threat of a lengthy suspension and possible termination of his contract if he is found guilty of doping offenses at a sporting trial. Juventus have not taken such drastic action just yet, but they have sent a letter to Pogba informing him of his pay reduction. Pogba is reportedly hoping for a reduced ban after it was revealed that the substance he has tested positive for is not testosterone itself but rather the testosterone-boosting hormone DHEA.
