1. Nicki Minaj hints that she underwent breast reduction surgery

It looks like Nicki Minaj has stayed true to her word and undergone breast reduction surgery—something she’s hinted at for quite some time. A screen recording of a 2022 Instagram Live currently circulating on social media shows the “Princess Diana” rapper declaring, “It’s A cup season.” While her downsize doesn’t seem to be that drastic, a new clip definitely shows a change.

On June 12, Minaj seemingly confirmed the procedure by addressing the topic in a video on her Instagram Story. “Nicki chopped off her mommy milkers,” the clip she reposted was titled. In the footage, the 40-year-old spoke with a reporter for Vogue on the red carpet of the 2022 Met Gala in New York. “Enjoy these titties ‘cause y’all ain’t ‘gon see it ever again. I told everybody that. They gettin’ [inaudible sounds],” she said before the clip transitioned to the star showing off a visibly smaller chest while wearing a white tank top.

2. Guinness World Record finally certifies Hilda Baci

Guinness World Record has finally certified Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, aka Hilda Baci, who broke the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. Recall that Hilda Baci last month, cooked for 100 hours non-stop, breaking India’s Lata Tondon’s 87 hours 45 minutes record of uninterrupted cooking in the process. On Tuesday, the record body finally certified her as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual). Guinness World Record tweeted, “After reviewing all the footage, we’re delighted to announce that Hilda Baci is the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual). Watch the video to find out the official time we’ve awarded Hilda and read the full explanation below.”

Boity Thulo has revealed that she has new music on the way for her fans. The South African rapper shared the good news with her followers on social media. Boity Thulo has been quiet on the music scene for a while. The “Bakae” rapper’s fans have been begging her to drop something for them but the star has been focusing on other adventures.

According to reports, the rapper had Mzansi hip-hop lovers jumping with joy when she announced her return to music by remixing the hit song “Sosh Plata” by Loatinover Pounds. Taking to her Instagram page, the rapper shared the clip and also flaunted her pricey whip. She wrote: “I’m back in studio… so I decided to play around with one of my fave tracks, #SoshPlata We can call this one the unofficial #QueenMix.”

4. Grammy Awards add Best African Music Performance category

The Recording Academy has announced the addition of new categories at the 2024 Grammy Awards. On June 13, The Academy announced the addition of three new categories to the next edition scheduled for 2024. The new categories include Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording. The new additions follow the introduction of two new categories last year Best Songwriter and Best Song for Change.

The Best African Music Performance category will come as positive news for African artistes, especially for Afrobeats whose music has been propelling the African continent to the world. The introduction of the African category will further give African stars a better chance of picking up the coveted prize.

5. Lionel Messi claims he WON’T play at 2026 World Cup for Argentina after sealing Inter Miami transfer

Lionel Messi has revealed that he has no intention of playing at the 2026 World Cup, with his last outing on such a stage set to be the 2022 final. Seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi inspired the Albiceleste to global glory in Qatar, with a collection of talismanic performances allowing him to complete a glittering medal collection. The 35-year-old had suggested heading into that tournament that he would not be back for another, and he has now reiterated that stance after revealing that he will be shortly heading to America at club level in order to link up with MLS franchise Inter Miami.

When asked whether he expects to prolong his international career through to the World Cup finals in 2026 which are due to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Messi said: “I think not. This was my last World Cup. I’ll see how things go, but not in principle, I won’t go to the next World Cup.” Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni had been paving the way for Messi to form part of his plans during the defense of a global crown, saying when asked about the chances of his captain staying on for a few more years.
