Highly revered music sensation, Wyclef Jean drops the visuals for his tribute to the legendary Fela Anikulapo-Kuti off the Album Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee. Fela Anikulapo Kuti (October 15, 1938 – August 2, 1997) was a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and human rights activist.
Wyclef Jean has immortalized the legendary ‘Fela Kuti’ in his own way with the release of the lead single off his highly anticipated 4th studio album titled Carnival III. According to the Haitian rapper,
“I decided to name it Fela Kuti because for me, I feel like we be thinking of Bob Marley, we give a lot of people from our past props, so when the kids hear Fela Kuti, I really want them to Google it.”
With Wyclef’s tribute to Fela, the wave of the Nigerian music industry is being further broadened globally. Enjoy the visuals to the video, as we anticipate the album release.
