Award-winning Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage is billed to perform at the historical coronation of the British monarch, King Charles III. King Charles III, who is ascending the throne following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, last year, will officially be coronated alongside Queen Consort, Camilla, on Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey. The coronation concert and Big Lunch will take place on Sunday, May 7.
Savage will join celebrities such as Steve Winwood, DJ Pete Tong, Lang Lang and Lucy, Paloma Faith, and Olly Murs, to thrill guests at the coronation concert. She becomes the first Nigerian artiste to receive an invitation to perform at a foreign royal coronation ceremony. In addition, the mother-of-one is the only Nigerian among the few African artistes that were chosen to perform at the historical event.

Tracee Ellis Ross will serve as an esteemed guest when the actress receives an honorary degree from Spelman College in May. The ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 21, and Pulitzer Prize holder Nikole Hannah-Jones, the brain behind “The 1619 Project,” will deliver the commencement speech.
The famed Atlanta HBCU shared the news via Twitter with a press release attached on Wednesday, April 26. “We are pleased to announce Pulitzer Prize-winning creator Nikole Hannah-Jones as [the] keynote speaker for Spelman College’s 136th Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Award-winning actress Trace Ellis Ross will receive an honorary degree,” the school wrote on social media.

3. South Africa: Nadia Nakai graces the cover of ‘Previdar’

Rapper and media personality Nadia Nakai celebrated gracing the cover of online magazine, Previdar, with a private soirée featuring close friends, family, and entertainment industry celebrities. Kevin Durant and Nike are in their relationship for the long haul. On April 28, the NBA star’s media network Boardroom announced he signed a lifetime deal with the sports brand. With it, Durant, 34, joins a rare group of the brand’s athletes in the basketball division, like Michael Jordan and LeBron James. The partnership between Durant and the multinational corporation began in 2007, his network shared. Since then, they have collaborated on 15 signature shoe releases with No. 16 arriving soon.
Nike also works with the two-time NBA Finals champion on his family foundation and EYBL program. Through the new agreement, Durant and Nike will continue their joint efforts on community and philanthropic collaborations as well as footwear and apparel. In a statement, Nike EVP of Global Sports Marketing John Slusher spoke on Durant and the new deal.

Barcelona Femeni confirmed themselves as Liga F champions for the fourth season in a row with a 2-0 win over Sporting Huelva on Sunday. In the same week where they made history by qualifying for a third successive Champions League final by seeing off Chelsea over two legs, Barcelona clinched a fourth straight Liga F crown — and eighth in the club’s history — with a win over Sporting Club de Huelva, putting the seal on a potentially flawless league campaign with four games to spare.
With 26 wins from 26 league games, 106 goals scored, and just five conceded after full-time of their all-important win, Barcelona’s league victory will go down as one of the most dominant campaigns in football.
