1. Rihanna is pregnant with baby number 2

Rihanna is pregnant with her second baby, a representative confirmed to the media following her 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, after fans speculated about her appearance. The singer was dressed in a curve-hugging red outfit and appeared to rub her belly during the airborne performance at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, where she treated viewers to a medley of some of her biggest hits. The new baby will have a big sibling, as Rihanna welcomed her first child with A$AP Rocky back in May.

The businesswoman hinted in a pre-game interview with Nate Burleson that she had a surprise in store for fans, but she didn’t end up singing any new songs or bringing out any musical guests to the Super Bowl halftime show stage. Her vague tease makes more sense now: “I’m thinking about bringing someone—I’m not sure,” she had said. “We’ll see.” After her Super Bowl halftime set, Burleson retweeted a post that read, “So when #rihanna told @nateburleson there was gonna be a surprise guest at the halftime show, I’m betting that the BABY is the surprise guest #JustSayin #SuperBowl.” He left his own comment with the message “Bingo!” with a bulls-eye emoji.

2. Future appreciates Tems with heartwarming gifts for Grammy-winning collaboration

American rapper Future has appreciated Nigerian singer Tems for her vocal contribution to his hit single “Wait For U.” The single won the award for the best melodic rap performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards. Following her win with “Wait for U,” the singer became the first female artist from the Nigerian music industry to win a Grammy. Appreciating Tems, the rapper sent a bouquet of flowers and a cute note. Stating that this is the beginning for them, he appreciated her for being part of the song.

In his words, “Tems, accept this token of beauty as a thank you for being the best part of our Grammy Award-winning song. This is just the beginning. Future.” Following Tems’ victory, many international acts expressed their desire to include the singer in their works.

Popular South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was fatally shot in Durban, South Africa, on Friday, February 10. According to reports, Forbes, 35, was killed alongside Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, a close friend, chef, and entrepreneur. They were reported en route to a nightclub for a performance. Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda informed the press that AKA and Tibz were walking to their vehicle when two armed men approached them and shot them within close range before fleeing the scene on foot.

AKA’s parents, Tony and Lynn Forbes, posted a statement on their son’s social media accounts: “It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of February 10, 2023. We are awaiting further details from the Durban Police.” Just hours before his untimely death, he posted about his forthcoming album, “Mass Country” being released on February 27.

4. Adidas faces projected $1.3 billion loss after canceling Kanye West

After terminating its working relationship with Kanye West in October on charges of spreading anti-semitism, Adidas has seen a huge drop in revenue. According to reports, the three-stripe company released a press release on Thursday, February 9, with CEO Bjørn Gulden saying there has been a “significant adverse impact from not selling the existing stock,” of their Yeezy supply. “The numbers speak for themselves,” Gulden stated in the release. “We are currently not performing the way we should.”

Despite the loss in revenue, Gulden is optimistic about 2023 and beyond, the CEO said. Adidas cut ties with the rapper in October following a series of antisemitic comments. In November, during an earnings call, the company announced that they are the sole owner of “all design rights” to the Yeezy brand and would be repurposing the owned designs in the years to come.

5. Man Utd goalkeeper David de Gea makes history with 400th Premier League appearance

David de Gea has made history with his 400th Premier League appearance for Manchester United, with no non-British player making more for one club. The Spain international goalkeeper joined the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has been a mainstay in their side ever since, winning the Premier League title, FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League during his time at Old Trafford. De Gea has also made the PFA Team of the Year five times and has been named United’s Player of the Year on four occasions.

De Gea has drawn level with Gary Neville in terms of Premier League appearances for United but is still 232 adrift of Ryan Giggs’ all-time record for the club. With his clean sheet at Leeds, he has now equaled Peter Schmeichel’s record of 178 shutouts for Manchester United. De Gea is one of only eight non-British players to have played 400 games in the English top flight. Rihanna Pregnant
