Last Week, The Best Dressed Stars Totally Blurred The Lines Between Art And Fashion

It was a big week for glamorous fashion last week. Whether they were heading to galas, film screenings, or the annual event honoring the Women in Hollywood, celebs had plenty of occasions to dress up for over the past few days. This meant a bevy of ritzy evening gowns—in fact tons of them, hit us all through the week. It was good to see celebrities have fun with formal dress up, proving that adhering to a black tie dress code can still result in a look that is contemporary and unapologetically vivacious.

The looks

The annual Wearable Art Gala, where celebrities come together to donate to charity, was held last Saturday. With the theme being Harlem Nights, celebrities stormed the red carpet in their grandest 50’s-inspired outfits. Singer and icon, Beyonce graced the occasion in a head-turning custom Gucci gown and gloves. Still on the theme, she opted for Dolce & Gabbana gloves and added some good dose of shimmer with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

It’s been a great year for female actors globally, and about that time Elle celebrates them with their annual Women in Hollywood event. Gracing this event, Emmy award-winning actress, writer, and producer, Quinta Brunson, wore a stunning tiered Carolina Herrera strapless dress. For shoes, she chose a pair of black platform Gucci shoes to match the number. She further accessorized with a pair of Swarovski earrings that complemented her hair, which was packed in a neat bun.

At the Basadi in Music Awards in South Africa, some took delightful fashion risks. Always on a cause to support South African brands, Boity Thulo followed the popular saying, “Go big or go home.” She walked the red carpet wearing a pink Otsile Sefolo number, which dared to get as much attention with its vibrant color and bold structure. She complemented the pink fit with a pair of pink feathery sandals, serving a hot pink moment. Celebrities Black Tie
