Metro UK Lists ‘Life is Eazi Festival’ As 1 of 10 Best Alternative Festivals in 2017 | Exploring Mr Eazi’s Afrocentric Style

Metro UK recently included Mr Eazi‘s Life is Eazi Festival in its list of 10 Best Alternative Festivals worth making the trip for in 2017. Formally known as Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade but better known by his stage name Mr Eazi, the Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur is the pioneer of ‘Banku Music’, a fusion sound he describes as the mixture of “Ghanaian bounces, Ghanaian highlife, Nigerian chord progressions and Nigerian patterns.”

The list calls Mr Eazi’s festival an “intimate experience” and further describes the artist thus:

“Nigerian born artist Mr Eazi invites revellers to discover more about African and afrobeat culture. An annual series, Life is Eazi will showcase the art, dance, fashion and music curated by Mr Eazi, culminating in a full-blown concert by the pioneering artist himself. If you fancy learning more about Africa’s rich, ever-lasting influence on British music culture, you could do far worse than this intimate experience.”

When it comes to his sense of style, Mr Eazi reps both Nigerian and Ghanaian looks in his wardrobe. His outfits are largely characterized by a mix of contemporary streetwear and traditional textiles – including his now-signature straw hat from the Ashanti region and the North of the Ghana. In addition, he’s got a penchant for playful jewellery, bright colours, narrow-cut blazers and turtlenecks. According to Mr Eazi, everywhere he goes, Ghana and Nigeria go with him.
