Last week, the beauty scene witnessed an éclat of gorgeousness as served by some of our favorite African and Black celebrities and influencers around the world. It was clear that while they might have spent a good amount of minutes bringing their beauty fantasies to life, it was well worth it. From fierce face beats to innovative hairstyles we’ve already pinned on our must-try list, we just couldn’t get enough of the best beauty looks!
Hair
In addition to being one of the most rocked hairstyles last week, ponytails upheld their ritzy status proudly. Spotted on the likes of Hollywood’s Gabrielle Union-Wade and beauty YouTuber Teaira Walker, the functional do had enough gleaming moments. Primo, Gabrielle’s half up half down style stole our hearts with its voluminous waves while Teaira’s simple and sleek baby hair and ponytail combo hit the mark and missed nothing.
Bringing in the perfect amount of panache to our feed, long tresses shone in different dimensions. Firstly, Jackie Aina’s straight back hairdo was a look to remember, and her effortless take on the hairclip fad proved this. Also hopping on the long hair bandwagon, Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie’s waist-length curls looked too good to ignore.
Repping the natural hair gang, South African YouTuber Gugulethu Nyatsumba showed out in a lengthy faux locs hairstyle that easily won us over.
Makeup
Nude lips are very much in right now and trendsetters like Lori Harvey and Olomide Didi-Stone agree. American model and influencer Lori Harvey wore hers matte-style with a matching cut crease look that gave off nothing short of bombshell vibes. On the glossy side of things, Paris-based, Congolese model Didi-Stone coupled hers with subtle smokey eyelids. It’s safe to say that the two stunners were absolutely on point as they showcased the power of well-done nude lips.
Equally taking the makeup space by storm, Nollywood ace actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande let her eyes do all the talking. She came through decked out in metallic blue eyeshadow pigments as she paid homage to the colorful eye makeup trend.
