This is a significant increase from 241 women who made the 2020 list. These women are either self-made billionaires or heirs who inherited a fortune. Whatever the case may be, they have one thing in common and that’s the drive to keep pushing and multiplying their wealth through hard work and strategic re-investments.
Joining the Forbes’ world richest women 2021 are prominent new entrants like Keiko Erikawa, video game developer and founder of Koei Tecmo, Bumble dating app co-founder Whitney Wolfe Herd (the world’s youngest self-made billionaire). Reality star and beauty mogul, Kim Kardashian and 61 other women also scored major dollar gains and earned a spot on the coveted list.
Oprah, the richest Black woman in the world came in at No. 1174 with a net worth of $2.7 billion. Isabel dos Santos, the eldest daughter of Jose Eduardo dos Santos, Angola’s former president, who was once the richest woman in Africa didn’t make the list this year.
