Gucci And The North Face Team Up To Give Us A Fashion Perspective At The Great Outdoors

Three months after stringing observers along with clues on social media, Gucci and The North Face have finally revealed a look at their highly anticipated collaboration.
Short videos of flags whipping in the wind against stunning natural backdrops which were uploaded on social media in September weren’t enough to give us sufficient information about what was coming but they were enough to let us know the brands involved.
Gucci and The North Face are bringing a feel of outdoor adventure right to our doorsteps with their latest collaboration. The Italian fashion brand has joined hands with outerwear brand for a collection of coats, bags and many more outdoor-suited items.

This collection serves as Alessandro Michele first collaboration with another fashion brand since he took over Gucci in 2015. To mark the collection’s debut, the designer set up an expedition to the Alps, where the Gucci team took a hike through one of nature’s finest locations.
Drawing inspiration from The North Face designs in the 70s, the collection makes use of materials and color palettes from The North Face fabric archives, and in the process, reviving archived fabrics. Considering both brands dedication to sustainability, the items in the collection are made from the nylon fabric ECONYL®, which was gotten from old fishing nets, carpets and other sorts of scraps.

Items in the Gucci x The North Face collection include outerwear, such as goose-down feather padded coats, bomber jackets, T-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets which have the special Gucci x The North Face logo on them, as well as boldly-patterned shirts and brightly-colored jumpsuits. The collection also features a co-branded hiking boot in three colors — brown, black and cream — with a Goodyear-weted sole, rope-like laces and the collection’s logo on the side.
Thought early access for the collection goes live through a raffle on December 23, the collaboration will debut in China through specially-redesigned stores in January 22, 2021. A limited selection of the pieces will also be available from the Gucci web store along with some online exclusives.
