The Future Awards Africa which is an award to celebrate young people between the ages of 18 and 31, who have made outstanding achievement in the year under consideration took place on December 18, 2016 at The Federal Palace Hotel and Casino, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The awards was conceived by the duo of Chude Jideonwo and Adebola Williams in 2004. The first The Future Awards ceremony was held on February 6, 2006 at the Muson Centre in Lagos to honour the outstanding achievements of the 2005/2006 season.
The 2016 awards ceremony was also lit up by lively performances by Timi Dakolo, who never fails to wow the crowd, Simi and Davido.
