Skincare for Men: How to Effectively Cleanse Your Face

A fashion and culture enthusiast who's really a food loving…
Let’s face the facts, most men think keeping a facial care regimen is too time consuming, feminine and unnecessary. But this couldn’t be any further from the truth. The face is always unprotected and is exposed to all the pollution; exhaustion fumes, sun rays, acid rain, and all other toxins in the air. Harmful particles are not only sitting on your skin, but they are digging their way inside through the pores. Which is why we see a lot of men with oily, uneven, blemished skin.
Taking care of your face is pretty easy and does not require a bunch of expensive, flowery-smelling lotions. It simply requires discipline and commitment.
How often should you cleanse your face? It is recommended that you wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night as any more than that could lead to drying out your skin. Cleansing your face is pretty simple and this 3-step plan proves it.
STEP 1 – Exfoliate
Exfoliation needs to be done only once a week. Ensure to buy an exfoliant with fine particles as the skin on your face is thinner than the skin on your body. Exfoliants physically scrub your skin to remove dead skin cells on the surface. Scrubbing away dead skin cells also unclogs the pores and loosens the dirt inside them.
STEP 2 – Daily Wash
For your wash, you will need a moisturizing wash as this will not leave your skin feeling dry like most face wash do. In choosing the perfect cleanser, you need to also consider your skin type as a cleanser for dry skin might not do justice to your oily skin. Many cleansers contain sodium lauryl sulfate, this can be quite harsh and irritating to your skin. So make sure your face wash is sulfate-free.
STEP 3 – Daily Moisturizing
This is the last step in your routine and it is not optional. It is best to apply a moisturizer with sunblock as this will protect your face from exposure to the sun’s harmful rays on a daily basis. This will significantly improve your skin’s condition and slow its aging process.
Doesn’t sound half as hard as you thought, right?
