Some people are of the opinion that women get too many days when they are celebrated. I, on the other hand, do not think that we celebrate women enough. Women deserve to be celebrated every day! And for Mother’s Day which was celebrated on March 22 in Nigeria, many celebrities took to social media to celebrate the essence of motherhood.
For Mother’s Day 2020, Scanfrost in collaboration with one of Nigeria’s finest actresses, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, MFR, held a competition on social media where her followers would say their favourite quotes and or phrases of their mum. As a Nigerian who particularly grew up in Nigeria, you would surely have a bag full of these and this definitely brought back fond memories of growing up in a typical Nigerian home.
Actress Ini Dima-Okojie who is obviously practising social distancing with her family decided to join the #SomethingNewChallenge and she was not alone! She enlisted the help of her friend, designer Derin Fabikun of Fablane by Derin, her mother and grandmother. Nothing beats seeing three generations of women make memories that will last a lifetime.
Actress and TV presenter, Eku Edewor stunned the gram as she shared never before seen images from her 2016 maternity shoot with her followers.
The men were not left out as they also took to the gram to celebrate their mothers and wives.
