1. Tom Hanks’ sister says he’s “not great, but still OK” after coronavirus diagnosis
A week after Tom Hanks shared his coronavirus diagnosis, another family member is weighing in. On March 11, the Oscar winner and his famous longtime wife Rita Wilson revealed publicly they had tested positive for the virus sweeping the world.
On Monday, amid reports that the pair had been released from the hospital, the actor’s rep confirmed to the media the two are in quarantine in their home in Australia.
Now, Sandra Hanks Benoiton, Tom Hanks’ older sister currently living in Italy, has also commented on his health after his coronavirus diagnosis, telling the media, “I have communicated with my brother. He’s not great, but still okay. Am I shocked? No. He’s an actor, not a god but medical care in Australia is good.”
2. Lagos announces four new coronavirus cases

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has said four new positive cases have been confirmed in Lagos State. At a briefing on Wednesday, Abayomi said the four new cases were in addition to the six cases who were in isolation.
With the new cases, Nigeria now has 12 positive cases of coronavirus – 11 in Lagos and one in Ekiti. However, one later tested negative and was discharged.
3. Top Tanzanian rapper tests positive for covid-19

One of Tanzania’s most popular rappers, Mwana FA, says he has tested positive for coronavirus. Mwana FA, whose real name is Khamis Mwinjuma, said when he had returned from South Africa he started developing a fever and symptoms of the virus. Tests confirmed that he had covid-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus.
In an Instagram post in the Swahili language to his more than 3.3 million followers, Mwana FA said: “I’ve decided to record this video message to tell you that this disease is real!”
He appealed to them to follow expert advice on washing hands and keeping a social distance from others – and not to panic if they caught the virus.
Mwana FA signed off with the plea: “Let’s take care of each other.”
4. Europe looking to extend virus lockdowns

European nations are examining extending the lockdowns put in place to try to stem the coronavirus outbreak. A lockdown imposed on 12 March in Italy, where the number of deaths has overtaken China, will now extend beyond the original 25 March end date.
France said its 15-day lockdown might also be extended, with European leaders reluctant to give any deadline for an end to crisis measures. There have been 207,000 cases worldwide with more than 8,600 deaths.
The EU has introduced strict border controls. Travellers from outside are being turned away from airports and borders after the 27-country bloc imposed a 30-day ban to halt the spread of coronavirus.
5. English football suspension extended until at least 30 April

English football will be suspended until at least 30 April because of the continued spread of coronavirus.
All games in England’s Premier League, EFL, Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship, and all fixtures in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, are currently postponed.
The Football Association has also agreed that the current season can be “extended indefinitely”. Under current rules, the season had been scheduled to end on 1 June.
A joint statement issued by the FA, Premier League and EFL expressed “a commitment to finding ways of resuming the 2019-20 season” and completing all domestic and European matches “as soon as it is safe and possible to do so”.
