Every week, one latest African music release or the other keeps us nodding to their lyrical content and stepping to the beats if they are groovy enough. This week was no different as African artists came through with some good jams that already has my weekend so energized.

From Nigeria to Ghana and even South Africa, these are the 5 new African songs you should listen to this weekend…

1. Davido – Fall (Remix) ft. Busta Rhymes & Prayah

On this remix, Davido features American hip-hop legend, Busta Rhymes and raving American rapper, Prayah. “Fall”  which has been doing massively well in numbers internationally, has become the first Nigerian music video to ever reach 100 million YouTube views.


2. Shatta Wale – Signboard

Ghanaian dancehall act, Shatta Wale collaborates with Paq on this track titled Signboard, in which he means that if they know you, they know you and so you don’t need a signboard to be known.

3. DJ Kaywise X DJ Maphorisa X Mr Eazi – Alert

DJ Kaywise teams up with South African producer/artist, DJ Maphorisa as they both tap Nigerian superstar, Mr Eazi for the tune entitled Alert. With this track, the trio want you to light up “the place” seeing as “the alert” has finally entered!


4. Ric Hassani – Love You Anyway

When it comes to good music, we trust Ric Hassani to always deliver and he did just that with this track that is perfect for the love season – hey, it’s still February. Ric Hassani is making a lot of promises on this track like the perfect gentleman that he is. You sure want to listen to this one with bae.

5. Masterkraft X CDQ X Zlatan – Are You Sure

Music producer, Masterkraft serves another street-worthy anthem as he teams up with CDQ and rave of the moment, Zlatan for this Zanku-inducing number.
