Only Kim Kardashian-West can turn a one-day event into a weeklong multi-costume event. For Halloween, the business mogul and reality TV star decided to pay homage to musical icons. Kim dressed up in not one, not two, but four separate costumes, each paying homage to some of music’s greatest female icons. Her looks included tributes to Cher, Madonna, Selena and, most controversially, the late R&B singer Aaliyah.

Cher
Starting off, Kim and her friend Jonathan Cheban gave a stunning nod to ’70s-era Cher and Sonny Bono, of course you know Cher approved.
Madonna
Kim’s next look was the queen of pop herself: Madonna while Kourtney Kardashian dressed up like Micheal Jackson at the Oscars in 1991.
Aaliyah
And when people thought she was done, Kim paid tribute to the late R&B singer Aaliyah. This was the most controversial look as it ignited a frenzy on Twitter when some people expressed concern that it bordered on cultural appropriation. Kim looked divine and has apologised for the misunderstanding.
Selena Quintanilla
Finally, the mum-of-two rocked her last costume on Halloween night – going as the late Queen of Tejano music, Selena Quintanilla.
