Word on the street is that this year’s GTB Fashion Weekend promises to be bigger than the previous edition. The second edition of “Africa Finest” fashion exhibition is scheduled to hold on the 11th and 12th of November, 2017 at Plot 1, Water Corporation Drive, Oniru Estate, Victoria Island.
No doubt, the much anticipated weekend will be brimming with a lot of fashion buzz. There is definitely going to be a lot of comparison between this event and the just concluded Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week.
Yet to decide if you would be attending? Don’t stress so much, we have collated 4 reasons why you shouldn’t miss the sophomore edition of GTB fashion weekend.
1. The Master Class
This is arguably the most eye-catching activity and the best part is attendance is absolutely free. Attendees only have to register for the classes before the registration closes. The master class series provides fashion entrepreneurs and creatives with the unique opportunity to learn from internationally recognised professionals and experienced brands. This year’s edition has a long list of the hottest talents in the fashion industry which include America Next Top Model catwalk coach, Jay Alexander, the creative genius behind Kate Middleton Wedding dress, Giles Deacon, multi-talented Photographer TY Bello, Fashion Editor and Journalist Vanessa De Luca and more.
2. The Shopping Experience
GTBank has an expansive space that allows both Nigerian and International brands to showcase their wares (crafts, hair and beauty, ready to wear jewellery, clothing and apparel and more) at very affordable prices. What could be better than that?
3. The Street Style Looks
What’s a fashion weekend without the street style fashion? Absolutely nothing! Get ready for some of the best street-style looks as GT Fashion Weekend always wins when it comes to exceptional street style wear. If you missed out on LFDW street style action then you have a second chance to make it right by partaking in the two day fashion weekend event. How exciting is that?
4. The Runway Shows
Another reason why you definitely need to attend the event this weekend. The runway show is perhaps the biggest activity and it is also free. However, the organisers decided to switch things up this year by ensuring that only registered persons get to watch the runway showcase. This year runway will feature collection from top local and international designers which include Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Julien MacDonald, Taibo Bacar and more.
