With no breakthrough on COVID-19 yet, the lockdown is the new normal, and finding ways to make the days—which now seem to just blend into one another–fun, is one of the real struggles out there. In these times, music is about the only thing that keeps most of us uplifted so we couldn’t disappoint with our weekend roundup. Latest Afrobeats music song today April 2020

In honor of the 10 year anniversary of his passing, we pay tribute to the late rapper, DaGrin. Born Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, DaGrin or the C.E.O (Chief Executive Omo-Ita), as he was popularly called, lost his life in a car crash on April 22, 2010.

It was still fairly early in his career and many were saddened that his light went dim just when it began shinning bright. In the coming months, it became obvious that death made him even more popular and his indigenous rap style would pave the way for many indigenous rap artistes we have today. DaGrin may have rapped in the Yoruba language but he was loved by all who listened to him. After his death, celebrities came together to pay a tribute to him in a song titled My Pain.

In more contemporary Afrobeat sounds, Tiwa Savage and Young Jonn feature Joeboy on a new single titled Let Them Know while Akon collaborates with Wizkid in a joint which they named Escape. Latest Nigerian sons music today 2020
