On April 13, 2020, Nigerian superstar, Tiwa Savage got on an Instagram Live chat with music mogul and businessman, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as Diddy held what he called a DANCE-A-THON to raise money to support American healthcare workers currently fighting to save lives amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The duo had a chat about a bunch of things before Tiwa Savage asked Diddy, “When are you coming to Nigeria?” Diddy replied, “I’m about to come to Africa as soon as possible and really go hit Africa up with the vibration and have a homecoming. I’m about to bring all the artists with me from America and we gon’ bring the artists from Africa, we gon’ mash-up and celebrate unity and we go realize the global power that we have (as black people). We have a responsibility to use it.”
Diddy then complimented Tiwa Savage’s voice as an artist and as a black person. He said, “I just want to tell you that the way you use your voice and your artistry is incredible and shout-out to everybody in Nigeria – we love you and we praying for you.”
Tiwa Savage’s young son, Jam Jam made an appearance and Diddy introduced himself to the boy as Uncle Puff. The conversation then turned into a dance session to ‘Attention’ by Tiwa Savage. Diddy’s sons, Quincy, King Combs and Justin Combs also danced along.
2. Stranded Nigerians to pay before evacuation

Nigerians residing abroad who have indicated an interest in returning home on account of the coronavirus pandemic will pay before their evacuation to Nigeria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has disclosed.
The minister told the media on Friday that the stranded citizens would be required to pay for their flight ahead of the evacuation. When asked if those who registered for evacuation would pay before or after their evacuation, the minister replied, “before evacuation.”
However, he did not respond when asked if the government had any plan for those who might not be able to afford a return ticket.
3. Locusts leave a million hungry in Ethiopia

The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization says about a million people in Ethiopia are in need of food aid after swarms of locusts destroyed vast areas of farmland. Working with the Ethiopian government, the UN found that desert locusts had damaged about 200,000 hectares of mostly sorghum and maize fields.
Kenya and Somalia have also been badly affected this year and have used planes spraying pesticides in an effort to protect crops and pasture from the swarms. Flight bans imposed because of the coronavirus have hampered these efforts.
In Uganda, the army was deployed to help spray pesticide.

The death toll from the new coronavirus in New York state – the US epicentre of the deadly pandemic – has passed 10,000, Governor Andrew Cuomo said.
Cuomo said 671 people had died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities in the state to 10,056. He also said that he believed the worst is over as hospitalisations appeared to be reaching a plateau.
5. Tottenham Hotspur reverse furlough decision for non-playing staff

Tottenham have reversed their decision to use the government’s furlough scheme for some non-playing staff during the coronavirus crisis following criticism from supporters. On 31 March, the club announced 550 employees would take a 20% pay cut in an attempt to protect jobs.
But on Monday, a Spurs statement said non-playing staff will receive 100% of their pay for April and May. Only board members will now take salary reductions, the statement added. That includes chairman Daniel Levy, who earned £7m last year.
