The Academy Awards is the ultimate Hollywood event and tonight we were reminded why. The 92nd Oscars took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California where some of the industry’s brightest stars gathered to await their wins or near-wins. While we are very much interested in the award winners, we also can’t deny that the red carpet is where all the magic happens, fashion-wise.
The Oscars 2020 red carpet was a canvas as celebrities showed up in various shades of dresses that painted a rich story of elegance, sophistication and contemporary glamour. In the end, it was metallics that won the battle of shades as many celebrities opted to gold, silver and bronze tones.
Even though rain leaked through and made the red carpet soggy, there was no stopping their shine as celebrities walked down the red carpet. Janelle Monáe definitely stole the show in a glittering hooded Ralph Lauren dress which was fully covered with rhinestones. Cynthia Erivo, on the other hand, gave us bridal inspiration for days in a custom Atelier Versace dress and Maria Tash Jewellery.
