10 African Models Who Owned The Runways At New York Fashion Week SS20

A fashion and culture enthusiast who's really a food loving…
As New York Fashion Week SS20 came to an end, we couldn’t help but beam with pride over the good number of African models who walked the shows. While diversity is still an issue in the modelling world, we have to agree that things are getting better and the runways are getting much more colourful.
From Nigeria’s Mayowa Nicholas and Adesuwa Aighewi, to Angolan supermodel Maria Borges and South-Sudanese models like Adut Akech, Akiima Ajak and others, our rising continent was pretty well represented on the runways and we’re celebrating how far African models have come.
While this list presents only 10 models, these ones are only a representation of the many other models of African heritage who walked the New York fashion Week runways.
