2019 Tony Awards Style Rave

The 2019 Annual Tony Awards took place at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday evening to honour the best in theatre. The 73rd Awards hosted for the second time by James Corden saw stars arrive in really colourful ensembles.

The 2019 Tony Awards was a delight and as always, the celebrities did not disappoint. This may have been the biggest night of the year for theatre and filled with a lot of singing and dancing but the exceptional fashion takes on the red carpet nearly stole the night.

In what is believed to be a nod to the “pride” month and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, the red carpet was decorated with rainbow floral patterns.

The rave of the night was Billy Porter who stole the show in a red and pink Celestino Couture gown made out of repurposed curtains from the Al Hirschfield Theatre after the Kinky Boots for which he won the Tony Award for best actor in a musical in 2013.

Jewel tones, metallic ensembles as well as colourful attires flooded the red carpet as attendees arrived in pure glitz and glamour, each one of them stealing the spotlight in their own way. However, some stole the show more than others and we are here to bring you the most rave-worthy looks of all.

Check out what your favourite celebrities wore on the 2019 Tony Awards red carpet…
