The Ocean’s 8 movie took its fanfare to Lagos this weekend and succeeded in pulling some of the most fashionable ladies in the city to its premiere at the Filmhouse Cinema, yesterday, June 17. The film whose plot is centred around the MET Gala saw Nigerian stars bring their best MET Gala-inspired looks to play.
The Ocean’s 8 movie is a spin-off of Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy and features a stellar cast including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter and Awkwafina. The plot follows a group of women, led by Debbie Ocean, the estranged sister of Danny Ocean, who plan on robbing the Met Gala.
With the likes of entrepreneur Tracy Nwapa, Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro and OAP Toke Makinwa obeying the dress code to the T, fashion-wise, the Ocean’s 8 movie premiere night in Lagos pretty much outshone the main premiere in New York and London where the stellar cast also dressed to the nines. The night is already being herald as the most fashionable night in the history of movie premieres in Nigeria.
