Without a doubt, one of my favourite Nigerian fashion brands is Orange Culture and that’s for a variety of reasons. First being the fact that the creative director behind the brand, Adebayo Oke-Lawal, is an immensely talented, creative and a particularly stylish man; second and most importantly, Orange Culture has a knack for constantly pushing the gender boundaries in Nigerian and International fashion with their cutting-edge pieces and well put together editorials and their AW 18 Collection which have just been released is no different.
The brand’s AW 18 collection features androgynous male and female models in an effort to push the narrative that fashion is gender-less and nonconforming to gender norms which is something I personally applaud. The pieces in this Orange Culture collection, I must say, are not for the faint-hearted but for the daring bold ones who are ready to make unapologetic fashion statements that challenge societal rigid norms and I am here for this!
A look at the collection…
