They remain key players in putting the Nigerian fashion industry in the spotlight and because of them we can totally trust and boldly say #buynigerian. Today, in our Designer Spotlight we are featuring the creative director of fashion house House of Borah.
Ifiok Akan (@sexyqueenbeee) of House of Borah is one of the emerging designers doing us proud at the moment, and has given us loads of reasons to say “love her, love her, love her”. She’s got her creative juices flowing, that’s why House of Borah is consistently given to creating adorable, bespoke, ready-to-wear pieces.
Asides from debuting at the Africa Fashion Week, one of the highlights for House of Borah this year has been the release of the very interesting DARA Collection, featuring a revamp of the ‘good old’ school check/uniform. The lookbook saw a modern twist to the cliché school uniform look. It was Inspiring, fun, trendy and creative.
Thanks to its head designer, Ifiok Akan, House of Borah has given us loads and loads of creativity in the past year. Word on the street is that, asides from being a fantastic designer who has been dependable in delivering some of the most amazing design pieces, Ifiok never gets it wrong with style! And we are really trying to get past the fact that she can get all these going even as a mum.
