We Just Found Out The Most Romantic States In Nigeria: Lagos Isn’t No. 1

Valentine's Day in Nigeria

Valentine’s day is around the corner and Nigerians are not left out in the love fever this 2020. It is normal to think that almost everything happens in Lagos but this time around, Valentine’s day analysis shows that the most romantic people in Nigeria do not actually live in Lagos!

The Picodi Analysis Team decided to look into one of the most commercialized holidays in the world and check where exactly love lives in Nigeria as Valentine’s Day approaches. To aid their search, the team decided to base their research in Nigeria on queries like “Valentine’s Day,” “love confession,” “flowers,” “love,” and others which are associated with Valentine’s Day. During the period before Valentine’s Day, the frequency of searching these queries increases in the whole of Nigeria, like in most places.

According to the team,

“After looking closely at Google’s figures, it turns out that the most romantic Nigerians live in Delta, Benue, and Federal Capital Territory. In these states, the increase in popularity of queries connected to Valentine’s Day was the highest. Although Delta is most known for its oil reserves, it turns out that the state has also a more romantic side of it.

Among all states, the lowest interest in Valentine’s Day and all connected to it was noted among residents of Yobe (37th place). Ekiti and Imo turned out to be quite unromantic as well (36th and 35th place respectively).”
