Unlike most western societies, in Nigeria the party season never really comes to an end as we enjoy fairly good weather all year round. In southwestern Nigeria, big celebratory parties are referred to as ‘owambe‘, which are cultural-themed parties that require you to dress in traditional pieces as opposed to rocking western-inspired looks.
Receiving an invitation to a cultural-themed ceremony often means that you have to purchase what is reffered to as the Aso Ebi package containing the choice fabric for the party. The package may also come with a Gele (headgear) as well as other necessary accessories the celebrant dims fit to add.
