The 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards took place on Sunday, 4th November at the Bizkaia Arena (Bilbao Exhibition Centre) in Barakaldo, near Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. The event which was hosted by Hailee Steinfeld aims at awarding music artists around the globe in different categories.
At the end of the night, Camilla Cabello was the biggest winner with four Awards while Nicki Minaj followed closely with three. Camilla may have been the biggest winner, but Tiwa Savage beat Davido, Fally Ipupa and others to be named as the Best African Act.
Tiwa took to her Instagram page to dedicate this win to the “African woman” and her Savage soldiers. The African Act category was infused into the MTV EMA to enhance musical alliances across borders and promote cultural integrations.
