On February 14, London Fashion Week Fall 2020 kicked off in full gear as designers came ready to showcase British fashion in all of its splendour. Designers drew inspiration from everything from British subcultures to the current political climate with every collection highlighting a different facet of the industry and the culture surrounding it.

In an effort to do their bit towards sustainability, some designers literally stepped outside the box for their choice of fabrics while others simply recycled their ideas. As the week came to a close today, it became obvious that most designers decided that more is definitely more!

For London Fashion Week Fall 2020, JW Anderson paid an ode to modern femininity in wildly voluminous pieces. Drawing inspiration from British subculture and European fashion movements of the past, Richard Quinn created a fusion of style befitting of modern Britain. He supplemented his signature latex-and-daffodil dresses with Elizabethan chain mail frocks and intricate outfits adorned with pearls and rhinestones.

The glamour of the disco age could be seen in Michael Halpern’s collection as he paid homage to British society women in bold, technicolour designs. The designs from most of the designers featured monochrome, draped silhouettes, minimalistic looks, intricate details, colour blocking, ruffles and so much more!
