The 5 Nigerian Songs Released In 2019 You Should Listen To This Weekend

It’s barely two weeks into 2019 and the Nigerian music industry is already giving us brain-bursting lines. In 2018, the Shaku Shaku and Zanku fever was an epidemic no one wanted a cure for, so we can’t help but wonder what dance moves will define 2019.

While we are still looking forward to the songs and accompanying steps that will take over 2019, we’ve curated 5 banging songs that have been dropped in January. These 5 songs are already making waves on the air and are setting the tone for what the music industry will sound like in 2019.

1. Falz – Talk

SBA President, Falz TheBahdGuy recently released his lead single ‘Talk’ off his upcoming album, ‘Moral Instructions.’ The track which was produced by Yung Willis gets us moving and talking as he used the track to talk about major happenings in Nigeria – both in the religious and political spaces. This single is just what we need as elections draw near.

2. Orezi – Born Broke Die Rich

This is a prayerful tune produced by Runtinz that everyone can relate to, especially if you do not come from a rich family. It is the kind of song that is sure to motivate you to work harder and smarter while dancing off to the beats.

3. Yung L – To Whom It May Concern

I call this one palm wine music because the beats remind me of kegites dancing around. This track, produced by TUC, is one that will definitely grow on you as it also addresses the politicians – Yung L advocates for a free and fair election. He also admonishes Nigerians to exercise their rights, vote wisely and avoid being used as instruments for political violence.

4. L.A.M.B Cypher 2019 – (Loose Kaynon, A-Q, M.I and Blaqbonez)

This is how you promote a cognac brand! The Chocolate City L.A.M.B Squad took things up a notch with this cypher. The rappers were spitting bars that would make you want to listen over and over again. They all nailed their lines. If in doubt, just listen again!

5. Kelly Hansome – Give Them

Kelly Hansome definitely wants us to dust our Gwara Gwara, Shaku Shaku and Zanku dance steps with this upbeat music. The song, produced by Tobi Lee, written by Kelly Hansome and co-written by Chidi Emetanjo, is one that is definitely going to keep you dancing longer at parties and at the club.
