Since winning the 2013 GT Bank Lagos Fashion and Design Week Award, Paolo Sisiano creative director for Sisiano and Ms Green has consistently proven his devotion and appreciation for fashion. As usual, the brand attempted to blur gender lines with a creative collection that expresses fierceness through colours and delicateness with sharp tailoring and soft textures.
While you wouldn’t call this collection the best from Sisiano, the designer still managed to keep fans happy and maybe gain new ones along the way thanks to the soft textures, vibrant and dominant use of red, blush and black, all of which help make the collection pop.
For womenswear, the collection played around with different ideas. There was a bit of Victorian addition with the brocade, lots of ruffles and shreds and of course the thigh-high slit dress that oozed sex appeal. For the men, however, he maintained his sheer inserts to traditional pieces, continuing in his part to make daring fashion statements for the man that is not afraid to live boldly through style. In all, the collection was fun, flirty and somewhat irresistible.
