Nigerian menswear label Orange Culture has released its Spring/Summer 2017 collection lookbook and it’s nothing like anything you’ve seen from any Nigerian menswear designer.
According to a rep for the label, this collection, explores “the themes of adolescent rejection”. The SS17 collection has been designed for the unapologetic male who’s not afraid to push his fashion boundary and live outside of societal expectations. Simply put, this the perfect collection to show an interplay of identity and rebellion in a fun yet provocative way.
The school uniform is referred to as the catalyst of the inspiration. Orange Culture asked the question; if they had a uniform, what would it be?
The pieces continue to push the preconceived boundaries of what the modern man should be – toying with feminine cuts constructed from a rich menu of linens, silks, organzas and coated cottons.
As with the collections before, fabrics are sourced locally to the Lagos based designer – helping to solidify their core brand beliefs for their first season at London Fashion Week back in June.
