Miss Nigeria 2017 – MILDRED PEACE EHIGUESE Crowned The 41st Miss Nigeria

The journey which started with 43 semi-finalists at the Miss Nigeria 2017 mansion came to an end on the 21st of December 2017 at the Eko Convention Center of Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. It was a night of mixed emotions as Mildred Peace Ehiguese representing Adamawa State emerged Miss Nigeria 2017. The 24-year old beauty beat 36 other contestants on stage to wear the coveted crown at the grand finale which also doubled as the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the pretigious pageant.

Emerging first runner-up at the Miss Nigeria 2017 competition was 24-year old Rita Chinedu representing Delta State and second-runner up was 21-year old Anne Ufuomanefe Benjamin representing Ondo State. The seven other contestants who made it to top 10 in the semi-final round of the competition were Miss Edo – Sarah Eghoghon Ifidon, Miss Bayelsa – Deborah Alfred, Miss Ekiti – Damilola Rebecca Bolarinde, Miss Akwa Ibom – Annalisa John Umanah, Miss Ogun – Tolulope Mary Ayanfalu, Miss Bauchi – Ruth Pare and Miss Ebonyi – Ezinne Emelda Agbom.

Performing at the event were 2face Idibia, Jennifer Eliogu, Mayorkun and Lala Akindoju who was also a co-host at the grand finale alongside Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Olive Emodi and Bovi. The judges of the pageant were Chioma Ude, Actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Olajumoke Adenowo, Yemi Keri, Noble Igwe, Ishaya Bako, Adebola Williams, Enyinna Nwigwe, Tara Fela-Durotoye, Odio Oseni, Juli Donli and Miss Nigeria 1979, Helen Prest-Ajayi.

The newly-crowned queen was rewarded with a car by GAC Motors among other exciting prizes. Other highlights of the night were the award for best model by Joan Okorodudu of Isis Models South Africa which was won by Miss Ekiti, Damilola Rebecca Bolarinde and came with the prize of a camera and a modelling contract in Johannesburg. Also, Miss Cross River, Victoria Lawrence Ana. won a competition organized by Heritage Bank and was declared as Miss Emerald.
