Last Weekend, Avant-Garde Pieces Defined The Best Celebrity Looks

A fashion and culture enthusiast who's really a food loving…
Last weekend, the gram was saturated with killer fashion looks from all corners but the best looks were easily the avant-garde styles that hit us from Naija celebs and style influencers. No chill pill was taken and we loved every bit of it.
Posing at events in locations from Ghana to the United Kingdom and back to Nigeria, Naija celebs and influencers upped their fashion game to match the wave of fashion weeks going on around the world. Shoulders, legs and arms were flaunted in pieces that would make the stiffest of heads turn.
As usual, we were on the lookout for the most inspiring, most rave-worthy fashion looks on Naija celebs and we’ve got our picks!
Check out the best Nigerian celebrity and influencer styles from this past weekend…
Tiwa Savage
Tiwa Savage has recently been making waves around the world. From New York Fashion Week to making her debut on the runway for Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief show in London, the Afro-pop star has been doing it all with style. This monochrome piece with Origami illusions dress by Matic Veler and popping coral nails just proves that.
Yvonne Nwosu
Why wait for a bouquet to arrive at your doorstep when you can be the bouquet? Popular designer and fashionista, Yvonne Nwosu of Vonne Couture relied on the Erica Moore brand to bring her look to life and they nailed it! Yvonne complemented her statement dress by keeping her makeup glam simple and elegant, adding a pop of sunshine with her shoes.
Mercy Aigbe
When it comes to aso ebi slayage, Mercy Aigbe is one Nigerian celeb that fashion and style lovers look up to. As usual, CEO Luminee created a creatively detailed aso ebi look to accentuate Mercy’s curves.
Juliet Olanipekun
The queen of layering, Love from Julez, decided to show up in a different light. She stayed off layering but killed the show in this sequin piece as she was awarded Africa’s Style Influencer of the year at the 2019 Glitz Style Awards.
Nancy Isime
Actress Nancy Isime is always one to obey the theme and win. When angels and demons is the theme, you get to choose a side. Nancy chose to be an angel for the premiere of the Made In Heaven movie in an all white and silver ensemble.
Og Okonkwo
Acclaimed designer Og Okonkwo of Style Temple has perfected the art of being one of the best dressed wedding guests. Last weekend, she showed up at a wedding in a creation of hers; a piece off her AW19 collection which she paired with the Midnight 00 shell polka-dot tulle and PVC pumps.
Ugonna Omeruo
For the 2019 Glitz Style Awards, Ugonna Omeruo of Hse of Nwocha designed a stunning masterpiece which easily stole the show. The floral detailing on the dress would make you wish summer isn’t over yet. She complemented her outfit with a floral purse and perspex heels.
Annie Idibia
The original African Queen, Nollywood actress and wife of legendary Nigerian musician Tuface, Annie Idibia, showed off her beautiful brown skin as she attended a wedding. Her face beat was kept nude to let her entire outfit steal the show.
