A Look Back At The Looks We Loved On African Celebs And Style Stars Last Week

As life gradually returns to a semi-normal state, celebrities and style stars across Africa – who happen to also be some of the best fashion influencers on Instagram – are finding more reasons to dress up, step out and make a fashion statement before the curfew kicks in wherever they are.

African celebrities and fashion influencers are consistently using their style on Instagram to prove that a global pandemic doesn’t equal an end to doing the things we love––especially if it keeps us going. Even as we continuously preach the gospel of safety and ask that you observe social distancing rules, we also want to re-emphasize the fact that a fashionable outfit should not only make you look good on the outside but also make you feel confident from the inside out. That confidence is exactly what we can feel from the women on this list.

Last week, some of the most stylish celebs and style stars in Africa stepped out in a range of amplified looks which they, of course, shared on Instagram. Camel-colored looks stole the scenes in Nigeria and South Africa and we can confidently say that these influencers and celebrities brought their A-game on!

In Nigeria, OAP and self-proclaimed ‘baby girl for life’, Toke Makinwa, who has been favoring exaggerated sleeves in recent times, shared a camel-toned playsuit with pleated sleeves which was finished off with a drawstring for added fullness. She accessorized with a white Bottega Veneta padded cassette bag with a gold chain and a pair of white strappy sandals.

In South Africa, prints were the order of the day. From the snakeskin boot seen on K Naomi, to the tie and dye printed joggers on Blue Mbombo, and Minnie Dlamini coming through with a checkered print tiered dress, Instagram was set on fire with fresh doses of super stylish ensembles.

The looks shared last week by African celebrities and fashion influencers were nothing short of glamorous and it’s safe to say that we’re living vicariously through them.
