Whenever I see Sade Akinosho, the style director of Kemi’s Store, I think Alice in Wonderland! There’s really something about this fashion enthusiast that connects my mind with the fantasy story. While the concept of Alice in Wonderland is of a child who went down a rabbit hole embarking on several adventures, facing her fears and taking responsibilities, the story echoes Sade’s fashion journey and gives you a deeper understanding of why it took a while before she launched her ready-to-wear brand.
Sade Akinosho’s love for fashion conquered all; her journey started first by training as a designer then becoming a fashion blogger and now, finally owning her own brand. From the creative adventure, you can sense a meaningful pattern and logic behind her decisions and the delays in the launch of Kemi’s Store.
From her personal style, it is obvious that Sade’s idea of building a fashion brand would be anything but mediocre. The brilliant newcomer studied the atmosphere and when she was ready began to launch RTW pieces that touched upon areas that many missed.
For Sade, fashion isn’t about creating collections upon collections, but more about the concept of identity and a need for freedom of expression in the most attractive way. So you’ll find that her designs reflect this same ideal; they are artsy, classy and ultra chic in familiar fabrics but cut in a way that’s so unique and unlike what you see elsewhere.
Here’s a look at Sade Akinosho in her own designs, you’ll find them awe-inspiring…
