All too often, makeup artists emphasize the eyes, and for a good reason. You see, the eyes are one of the first things people notice on your face so it makes sense to play them up. In some instances, we see them vibrate with colorful shadows that add an interesting pop to a look. Some other times, they come alive with dramatic lashes amid muted tone eyeshadows. Last week, the eyes came out to play but in a different way. Rather than leveraging the color of eyeshadows or the drama of lashes, both actress Yara Shahidi and beauty influencer Jasmine Egal made a case for dramatic liners. The result was a flawless blend of beauty and edge. Actress Yara Shahidi rocked a negative space graphic eye makeup as she attended the Cartier Beautés du Monde High Jewellery collection launch in Madrid, Spain.

There’s something about summer that makes us daring enough to explore bold territories. From skinny outfits to brightly-colored hairstyles, the warm weather convinces us to experiment, and we’re always here for that. Now, imagine our excitement when we spotted Nigerian actress, Dakore Egbuson wilding it in a bloody blob that flattered her face and skin tone. Surely, one look at her and you’d agree that red is indeed a Black girl’s color.
