Last Week, Natural Hairstyles Ruled The Beauty Scene

At Style Rave, we aim to inspire our readers by…
The thing about beauty is how different bits come together to form The look! The eyes, the lips, the hair––all these parts are instrumental in creating the stunning looks we see and admire but more frequently than not, one feature stands out more than the rest. Last week, it was textured hair or like many call it, natural hair! hairstyles.
The Natural Hair Queens
If you need a little inspiration to love your natural hair or need African-hair inspired hairstyles and beauty looks, let these beautiful women inspire you.
South African actress, Pearl Thusi kicks us off this week with a crown-inspired afro updo we fell in love with instantly. Her edges were laid to perfection and pulled back by a single round braid which formed the base of her afro crown. The entire look makes for a very graceful appearance; more so as the actress gives us bright smokey eyes and dark purple lips.
Dallas-based beauty and lifestyle influencer Mary of Ms. Naturally Mary was flexing in her 4C side bangs last week and in the process showing us all the good things about 4C hair. We can say it’s the blow factor that makes you glow, right?
The category is BOLD and we love how curls connoisseur Jaynelle Nicole created a Mohawk fro with her natural hair while serving us with bright red lips. Her lips and pearl hoop earrings pulled this entire look together and earned her a top spot in our best beauty list.
Creative Makeup looks
White pearls are simply associated with royalty and you will love this playful royal look created by Ghanaian beauty blogger and makeup artiste, Vanessa Gyimah. We are talking pearls everywhere, even in her sleek updo. Speaking of sleek updos, South African makeup artiste, Lungile Tabethe’s updo is a look for days. She employed the white eyeliner trend to seal the look. We’re in awe of all the elevated creativity in the beauty scenes.
Closing this week in African royal style is model, Naomi Barber for the photographer, Henry of Dehenvisuals. Her headscarf is as instrumental to her overall look as her glossy lips are to the flawless face beat. It’s such a delight to behold all this beauty and we couldn’t wait to share them with you.
