However, since Frodd had the power to save himself and replace with another housemate of his choice because of the veto power card he won earlier in the game, he replaced himself with Mercy.

Following last weekend’s eviction of Avala and Isilomo and with the latest eviction, there are now 17 housemates left in the running for the BBNaija prize.

Kimoprah also revealed that she would further her studies before taking a step into broadcasting and owning the entertainment world.

The eviction will continue for the rest of the show which will span for the duration of 11 weeks.

2. Trump makes racist remarks to female reps

US President Donald Trump has been accused of racism after posting tweets attacking Democratic congresswomen.

A group of Democrats, who are women of colour and have been outspoken about Trump’s immigration policies, last week condemned the conditions of border detention facilities. The group of women joining Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

Trump implied in the series of tweets that the congresswomen weren’t born in America and sarcastically suggested, “they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”

Trump did not explicitly name who he was attacking in Sunday’s tirade but it was deduced from the reference to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Later Sunday, Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter that the country she “come(s) from” and “swears to” is the US and suggested that Trump is “angry because you can’t conceive of an America that includes us.”

You rely on a frightened America for your plunder. On top of not accepting an America that elected us, you cannot accept that we don’t fear you either,” the New Yorker responded in a tweet.

Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Pressley are natural-born US citizens, while Omar was born in Somalia and immigrated to the US when she was young. Omar became a citizen in 2000 when she was 17 years old.

Omar told the president that he was “stoking white nationalism because you are angry that people like us are serving in Congress and fighting against your hate-filled agenda.” She also called him “the worst, most corrupt and inept president we have ever seen.

And Pressley shared a screenshot of Mr Trump’s tweet, adding: “THIS is what racism looks like. WE are what democracy looks like.

Many high profile persons, including Democratic presidential frontrunners Senator Elizabeth Warren, Beto O’Rourke and Bernie Sanders, have called Trump’s comments vile, racist and xenophobic.

3. New James Bond will be black, female

James Bond fans wanting 007 to be either black or female are in for a double treat with the movie spy about to be played by a black woman, according to a report on Sunday.

British actress Lashana Lynch, 31, will be introduced as the new 007 in what is being described as a ‘popcorn-dropping moment’ in the franchise’s 25th movie that is currently being filmed.

The reports say that Daniel Craig – who is still the same old James Bond we know and love – is brought back from retirement at one point in the movie and introduced to Lynch’s character, who has inherited his old code name.

Per reports, Craig tries to seduce Lashana Lynch on camera to no avail and it seems like her character might be the main protagonist in any Bond films going forward.

Lashana Lynch, who played the fighter pilot Maria Rambeau in “Captain Marvel”, is hoped to modernize the franchise criticized by many as being too dated and sexist.

The Serb had largely gone unnoticed most of the tournament with everything else happening. There were Federer and Rafael Nadal‘s semi-final blockbuster, Coco Gauff‘s breakthrough and Serena Williams and Andy Murray playing mixed doubles.

But Djokovic has earned his spot in the limelight with a hard-fought victory over his long-time rival. He saved two match points on Federer’s serve to defeat the ever so popular Swiss in a match that would be remembered for ages.

The victory comes a day after Simona Halep downed Serena Williams in the women’s final in a quick-fire 56 minutes.

Halep became the first Romanian to win Wimbledon when she stunned the American 6-2 6-2 in what had to be one of the finest performances in a final in the tournament’s recent history. It was a third straight grand slam final defeat for Serena Williams, a feat that has happened for the first time in her record-breaking career.
